Dear Boddunanians

I once gave Kinley water bottle as a Birthday gift to my friend, she was like irritated and did not speak to me for a few days. I had to explain to her the benefits of having pure water and what it does to the skin and then she spoke to me

On my niece's first birthday, I gifted her a toothbrush (she had 2 teeth) and she always held it for 2 months,then she kept it aside, My sister thought it was weird of me to give her toothbrush

One of my closest friend gifted me Anjeer(figs) as gift,I was begining to understand the health conscious effort behind it, but it was kind of weird

    I don't celebrate my birthday and don't offer such gifts in others birthday.But we had started a new campaign - my birthday an earth day.You have to do something ecofriendly on your birthday.

    Never got any such kinds of gifts in life neither did I gave one to any but then I agree with you on one point that sometimes though a particular gift might seem to us meaningless but then it might have its own worth and value which very often then not in our practical life we hardly realize.....A very valuable point is made by you through this post Swetha and I will always try to remember it in my life...

    This thread reminds of the famous story: "Gift of the magi". The husband and wife both wanted to gift each other on marriage anniversary. But they had no spare money. The husband sold his watch for buying a comb whereas the wife sold her hair to buy gold chain. Both gifts were thus weird.
