Duty first
Time is like money. We should spend our time in the proper way. If we waste time doing nothing, we will get nothing. Time wasted is lost for ever.
Let us read a story about a boy a boy who never wasted his time.
There was a rich farmer in a village. He wanted to employ a boy who could work for on his farm. Many boys turned up for job. The famer asked many questions from them. But he was not satisfied. He was disheartened.
Then one of the boys came forward and said, ``Sir, I am poor. I am in urgent need of this job. Will you please give us a chance?’’
The farmer asked, ``what can you do for me?’’ urgent need of this job. Will you please give us a chance?’’
The farmer asked, ``what can you do for me?’’
The boy answered, ``Sir, I will work all day long. I will make use of every minute of time. But at night, I will sleep soundly’’.
The farmer was impressed with the answer of this boy. He offered him the job.
The boy was hard –working and honest. He did his job well. He gave no trouble to the farmer. The farmer was very happy with him.
One night, it rained heavily. Hailstones fell in plenty. The farmer was worried about his animals and the heap of grains. He went to the boy and tried to wake him up. But the boy did not wake up. He was sleeping soundly.
The farmer became very angry. He thought that all his grains would be ruined. The animals and their babies would be dead because of hailstones.
Thinking this, he went to the barn. To his great surprise, he saw all his grain heaps were properly covered up. His animals were tied up at their proper places. Their shelter was neat and clean. There was plenty of hay to keep them warm. The farmer was very happy.
The farmer now understood that the boy had kept his words. He had really made use of every minute of the time. He is faithful to his master. The boy knew that it was going to rain. So he did al his job in the day time.
Since that day the farmer did not have to tell him again what to do.
