Both Islam and hinduism have failed to evolve like the Christian faith in the west.  A lot of this is due to obscurantist religious  leaders who are held in awe  here. I dont think this will change for another 100 years this shows how much education is lacking in them. Mainly the uneducated people thinks that but i we got shocked when we come to see the thinking of today's educated people, yeah some of the educated are there in India who also thinks that women are minor and they are superior from them and some of them are who don't think women as human    Very true, it is the mindset that matters not education in itself ! Dowry is demanded more by the highly educated grooms , so what use is such education which does not enlighten the mind of the person?

Thanks to my work and being member of Air Staff team, I visited the length and breadth of India from the game parks in Assam and MP ( Kaziranga and Kanha) to the historical monuments. But sadly  the infrastructure of hotels and access roads is very poor and that deters tourism.  I go to Ujjain that has history behind it, but it is so dirty and my American friend wanted to run away. Why should Indians wait for the government to do something? Why can't Indians who stay nearby beautify and clean the place.  Even our temples so lovely and artistic need a clean up. One has to see the temples in Thailand and China to realise this. Just see the mosques in UAE, so clean, and lovely I totally agree with that, even smaller countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand and of course the African and Arabian countries have better infra structure and tourist facilities than India. It is a wonder that we still attract tourists most of whom have nothing good to say about the way things work here ! We have the bare minimum budget for tourism ,and the ministry is not even a prominent one, does anyone remember and know who the minister for tourism is either at the national or state level?

Whatever may be reason, Glorifying Afzal Guru, the Parliament attack convict in the campus of JNU  should not be tolerated. Home minister Rajnath Singh said behind the JNU incident LeT's hand is there.

Indian History long age removed the tag Traitor from the prefix of Revolutionary fighter Bhagat Singh. But our our own Indians do not know that he is Shaheed Bhagat Singh. But we know about Valentine. Let there be Valentine's day celebrations. But there should be celebrations of heroic deeds of our Martyr Bhahat Singh too.

Shampa Sadhya said thank you to vijay for his/her reply to the topic Is this women empowerment? .
For a change why don't we reverse the roles. Women enter everywhere and restrict men from entering where women are restricted today. Let us see how men react to this segregation.

People say that JNU is dominated by communists so such an allegation seems to be quite contradictory that's why let's wait for the final investigation report.

I think no Indian has forgotten him. School students learn about him through books and they all respect him. Even Bollywood invested a lot on making movies based on his life so these are all examples of showing respect and honour to the great soul but it's a farce to relate it with Valentine's Day.

this is all about one's nature. If a man thinks like that then it shows how his thinking goes.

MG Singh wrote: vijay wrote: No activist who opposed US participation in Vietnam war, and there were huge protests, was convicted. How weakness of Hinduism comes out is not clear. The ruling ideology is trying to spread its tentacles in all fields including education institutes and JNU is a prize catch. Foul play cannot be ruled out to malign left wing students. I also agree that anti Indian slogan raisers should be punished but let us not draw biased conclusions till matter is more clear. The two cases are different. An antiwar protest like anti Vietnam war is not the same thing like lionising a terrorist like Afzal Guru or Bin Laden   Marking the death anniversary of Afzal Guru, the Parliament attack convict in the campus of JNU had the backing of Jamaat -Ud- Dawah chief Hafeez Saeed JuD. JuD is the Philanthropy arm of terrorist outfit of Lashkar -e-Taiba. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/jnus-afzal-guru-event-had-support-from-let-chief-hafiz-saeed-rajnath-singh/article8237355.ece
