Could you remember when you transacted last in small coins like 10 paise, 25 paise. There are many songs on Chavanni and duanni. It appears that soon even fifty paise coin will lose any significance and there will be only Rupee one and more coins and notes.

coin of 10 paisa and 25 paisa official out of fashion and people are not accepting coin of 50 paisa, so it unofficial out of fashion. Not turn is of 1 Rs coin.

Even 50 Paisa coins also almost disappeared as the business people here are not accepting them.

Now 50 paise coins are simply not needed. Presently, there is scarcity of five rupee notes and coins also.

I saw a five rupee note a couple of months ago after a lot of gap. Since then I haven't seen one yet. And those which are there, are indeed in a bad state. And I just have 50 paise coins as a collection. They are literally of no use in the market today.

This shortage of coins causing loss to the people. Take for example , if a thing costs rs.2.50 p, you are forced to pay rs.3 to the trader. The trader will not have 50 p to return. Even he gives that 50 p is useless because, no other trader accepts 50 p.

Here in Imphal, for the past many years it has been a practise for the shopkeeper to usually give 50 p worth of things like sweets and shampoo. The customers have to accept these things.

The practice of giving things instead of change is prevalent here also. Difference is, now we are neither getting the change nor a thing equivalent to the money because nothing comes for 50 P.

Same is the case h ere to with respect to 50 paise, 1 rupee coins and now they have also started giving chocolates worth 5 rupees! Either we give them the change or we just accept anything worth 5 rupees but not say a word!

That's quite natural. I was subscribing to a local newspaper that cost Rs. 2.50. What I used to do was pay Rs. 5 or Rs. 10 in one go and just keep track of how many issues were bought. That also saved the extra bucks and also no lose to either of the parties.

If you want to see new fiver, twos and even one rupee notes go to any CURRENCY NOTE TRADER and buy any number of brand new notes. The only thing is you will have to pay 5 to 10% extra. Same goes for smaller coins which are officially available in nationalized bank branches but given to only friends by bank staff.

It's not possible for every commodity. Think of a poor man for whom every paisa counts. And just imagine the quantum of amount lost due to non availability of small coins in a single day.

New generation don't know about small coins. I keep some of them to show my child and to collect old coin is my hobby also.

curley 10 paise, pentagon like 20 paise, small rounded 25 paise, big 50 piase. We lost the pleasure of having coins.

After few years some of notes which are relevant and frequent in use could disappear and become legend.
