Slapping a policeman on duty? Is this not extreme case of taking law in own hands? But this lawlessness is defended on the plea that others indulge in more objctionable activities. I wonder why they do not abolish the police forces? The politicians could themselves maintain law and order or really introduce their brand of lawlessness? They least understand that if police or any security forces loses dignity, this is ineffective and cannot be expected to give any results.

It's the characteristic of all the politicians who think adherence to law is for the foolish public. By being in the power they think, they are the superhumans.

This particular superhuman has surfaced now and says he never went missing but obly went to Tirupati to get lords blessings and if he was high handed with the police it was because they were rude to his relatives , But CCTV footage tells something else, he ht the police and when his wife and niece tried to stp him, he hit them as well and with another rowdy present there began chasing the police - and all this at Skyebar a very posh pub at UB city in Bangalore ..

Yes. The clip was shown in Telugu channels. Lying for the politicians comes effortlessly. If it's not so, how he could have become a politician?

Every evening on TV channels we see the party spokespersons valiantly and many times foolishly defending the indefensible behavior by their party members.

I feel that even the pub owner is at fault for having gone against the ban of 11.30 closure or 12 I guess ! The incident took place after 1 am . However, as of now neither the cops nor anyone has done nothing so far and the fellow is going around shooting his mouth and blaming the police ..

Police reform is necessary but can they be reformed by slap by politician. Now is the time that polticians be reformed.

I am all against police atrocity. But police using excessive power during duty is somewhat understandable. But making police force ineffective and a thing of joke is most condemnable. Police that cannot defnd itself and is attacked by politician will never be able to work properly. While not supporting police atrocities, I think it is improper to compare police highhanedness with poiticians or anyone elses's highly undesirable attempt to break morale of police. Morale of all forces- defence, para military and police is of utmost importance to maintain internal and external security. To elucidate, I oppose teacher using voilnce against student but I will not compre this with student beating teacher.

I agree with you. Police are assigned the job of protecting the law. It's the duty of the citizens as well as the Politicians to allow the police to do their assigned jobs for the overall good of the country.

Anarchy ultimately turns to dictatorship. It is necessary to impose self discipline abd respect the authority of police as well othr forces to enable them to their job. The issue of police atrocities or excesses can be tackled by proper training and reforms. But the morale and dignity of police and all forces must alyays be kept high and intact.
