Friendly atmosphere yields best relations between the parents and children. It's time for the parents to give up "Authoritative" ways, which may prove counter productive and lead to juvenile delinquency .There is a risk of child becoming a Rebel.

Too much of pampering and overindulging in every tantrums they throw over can often spoil the kid.

Exactly. Love of a parent towards children is essential. Parents should have patience to find out what is the best way to get the Best out of their children.

Either way I feel that communication is the key to any successful relationship, no one can be taken for granted , nit even your children . As long as we communicate effectively there will be no overstepping the limits and it will be much easier to convince the children when they tend to be demanding..
Absolutely, communication is important, the activities of conveying information which consists of listening and speaking is important. It manages more and that creates a congenial situation for parents in decision-making.

The normal practice for parents is to expect children to tag along and do what they tell them to do without discussing and making them aware of the activity involved and when children grow older they begin to protest in their new found freedom, instead if parents had the sense to communicate and see what their likes and dislikes are things would be far more amicable. Here I have an instance to quote where the son hated curds and was forced to do so by the parents but he would vomit everytime he ate curds and the parents thought he was doing it on purpose just to put them down. Finally a doctor friend who came to know about this told them that he was allergic to lactobassilius which is found in curds and forcing him will only make the situation worse and can have negative effect on his health...It is either due to impatience or the power to control or sheer stupidity that drove the parents to that level. Children become more rebellious and demanding when they grow up when parents take them for granted during their early years ..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

True. The more children are driven to wall without bothering to know the children's psyche, the more they become adamant and rebellious. The incident you mentioned here is true and it's more commonly visible in more families.
Yes true. Too much of authoritative discipline can turn them into rebels.

Becoming a rebel is just the first symptom. If the parents cannot notice the first symptom, it may further lead to drug addiction and other damaging habits which are irreversible.
As I see it the first words chidren get to hear is NO, dont touich that dont do that - just negativity ! No wonder they grow up with fear and a sense of insecurity and when they reach their teens they begin to rebel against all those who have been controlling them. Most parents are control freaks who want to keep their children under their thumb as if they are their private property or asset , controling all their actions...No wonder children revolt ! When there is love and understanding no child can go beserck..

Children always look towards parents for a word of appreciation and a pat on the shoulder. Parents should appreciate the children in open and rebuke and chide in private. In some parents there is a wrong belief, that children if appreciated, will reduce their life span. What a wrong belief !!!

I know of this belief where parents dont appreciate children because they feel it will give them a swollen head , but actually they are only damaging their egs. Children grow up with a feeling of insecurity and lack of self confidence and by the time they are into their teens it is too late to correct this..

Mere parenting is not everything. Just the knowledge in the parents' " that ther own beliefs and views should not be thrusted on the tender hearts" would go a long way.
