The lady was lucky to get back her property. Anyhow any school be it a Madarsa or patriotic school, the curriculum framed by Maharashtra government has to be followed.. Otherwise they will be decognized..An education system should be able to provide opportunities for higher studies or to open employment opportunities. No religious school offer such opportunities.

The Sarswati schools called SSM are non religious but patriotic and can never be compared with Madrasas which concentrate on brainwashing the students and make them hard core believers. The Congress government in a bid to garner support actively encourages this.

In my street there was a large compound with an old house , the owners living abroad . One fine day the place was cleaned up and classes were held.A board was put up saying it is Islamic school of learning.Since I know the owners, I called up the lady and asked her if she had sold or rented out the property and she was shocked when she heard about the developments. She came to India and it was real battle for her to get them out since they had certificates given by the local MLA and a minister from the state government who were both pressurising her to sell the property to the Islamic school , (a local goonda, we came to know later ) but since the entire neighborhood was with her she managed to oust them and sell her property to a developer who is now building an apartment block...I blame the politician for increase in Islamic terrorism in our country.

So that is how they operate?? Most madarasas focus mainly on brainwashing their children and making them hate all kafirs, So is the Maharashtra govt. wants to put a stop to it, they are not doing anything wrong in the least!

Maharashtra government's decision was hailed by many Muslim bodies too. Maharashtra government without raising any aspects about the activities of Madarsas, it simply said those schools which are not complying withe curriculum of the Education department like Madarsas will be derecognized.

There are religion based education institutes even of hindus including saraswati schools of RSS.  So no question of banning Madarasas. However all institutes and schools should teach English, Maths, Science in addition to religious teaching.

Sir, Swarswati Shishu Mandirs are no religious schools but they teach the same syllabus as prescribed by the government. And You will be surprised to know that the students from these schools always find the place in toppers of every state.

Ah.. it's a good update. I thought all along  Saraswati Shishu Mandir is also a religion based schools like Madarsas. Anyhow I reiterate Madarsa  derecognition is well justified.

There is nothing wrong in running a religious school, provided they do not spread hatred for other reilgions and also follow the prescribed courses.

There is nothing wrong in religious schools. Only thing is the pupils of these schools will not be eligible for higher education.

Dear Sunil. Thanks for the link. You see it is the decision taken by Maharashtra government. It said religion based education and the respective institutions will not be recognized if they fail to comply with the curriculum prescribed by the education department of Maharashtra.

Now coming to the point, Saraswati Shishu Mandirs may be teaching other prescribed educational needs along with many other things. Here the question arises if SSMs have a branch in the state of Maharashtra. if so are the SSMs meeting the prescribed  syllabus framed by the Maharashtra government, is not clear in the link provided by you. Other things are alright. No controversy on SSMs
