Our State and National Elections have always been full of drama and citizens have witnessed an all out verbal battle between the different political parties. The long drawn out Bihar elections are all that and more because of the political and social atmosphere prevailing in the nation today. There has been slang match between the parties with Nitish Kumar calling Modi a Bahari and Modi giving tit for tat , question as to what one can  call Sonia Gandhi ? Nitish Kumar should have been careful with what he says .. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/elections/bihar-elections-2015/news/If-I-am-a-bahari-what-about-Sonia-Gandhi-PM-Modi-asks-in-Bihar/articleshow/49594146.cms

@ Gulati: Your view are those of someone who wants to achieve many things simultaneously disregarding the realities as they exist or as they evolved. Just because Pakistan maltreated its minorities is that a reason that we should a;so do the same? Then in what way we are different and why should we condemn their brute behaviour? Secularism is a lofty principle and requires maturity and tolerance which was there till a few years. It got drowned in a maze of corruption and rise of alternate views gaining strength. That is  politics. Are you sure that by declaring India a Hindu Rashtra all our problems will be resolved or do you want Pakistan type solutions to be adopted by India also. Whatever may be the view point, unification is not possible nor desirable. I have myself experienced the warm relations Indians and Pakistanis have with each other outside India where they feel comforted by each others presence. But back home the demons seem to take over.

He is right in what he says and we have to take it in every context possible, If pork is eaten with Muslims or in a Muslim home will they like it , similarly we have to respect the sentiments of those who are against eating beef ...If we can respect their sentiments how does this become fascist ?

Absolutely, we have seen such things happening within our country so how can one even think of unifying two ideologically, totally different nations , sharing nothing but a bloody past and present ..

@ Chinmoy I'm in total agreement with your opinion. People are the ultimate and they are very clearheaded  as far as their choice to whom the reins are to be handed over for the next 5 years irrespective of their literacy, urban or rural. It's not all, they will be vigilant all along about the deeds of those who are at the helm of the affairs. Once they see that the rulers measure up to their expectations. they will be re elected . Else, thrown in to the nearest dustbin.

@Shampa It is possible to give whatever spins one likes but its timing should raise a lot of frowns about impartiality of these honorable souls. Modi has a mandate for 5 years and Indian electorate are mature enough to take care of his deeds and misdeeds. Some of them might be illiterate or semiliterate but they rose to punish even Indira Gandhi and they will punish Modi when his time comes but these people are behaving like headless chicken!!!!

I feel that every action has different interpretations and naturally people drag various conclusions from that. We should not forget that the central government came into power with a good margin of votes that means there were many if not all who must have also voted them to power. Why should we assume that those who are showing resentment against intolerance are all against the government in power? I may not understand politics very much then too I have a doubt that all these resentment is not against one party but it's for increasing intolerance only.
