I think once change of guard at center, appointed governors of previous government should resign. Today's Indian express poll results in this subject shows whopping 93% in favor of it. Especially, some of governors are former ministers and chief minsiter of Congress government.

This also goes to show the kind of political atmosphere that Congress has created over the years, the sychopancy, arrogance and manipulation were all part of it and the general public knows all about it and favors the removal of all Congress appointed governors since they will not function in a fair manner ...

All the governors, who were asked to resign are the hardcore supporters of Congress like Sheila Dixit. How can one expect they would function in a fair manner? Their presence will lead to chaos.

The trend of changing Governors was not started by Congress or UPA. It was started by Janata govt, in 1977 and has continued since. The Governors are appointed by the party in power and reflect their ideology in all matters. Therefore it is alright for them to be replaced if their is a change of party coming to power at the Center. Governors should have resigned on their own. Also they will be replaced by another set of equally sychophant, arrogant and manipulative set of politicians but of a different ideology. Governors like the President do not act on their own but do so on the advise of the Government, so fair or unfair is not their choice.

Who sever might have started this practice, it's a wrong practice.

The tenure of Governors should be coterminus with that of the Central Government. If same party comes to power it can reappoint the governors they want.

Perhaps the central government doesn't have faith in the UPA appointed governors.

No that is not the case. As stated earlier the Governor cannot act on his own. He has to do so on the advice of his State cabinet. Yes he can delay matters in some cases or sit for very long periods etc. The real reason is that there are many BJP stalwarts who could not be accommodated in the Cabinet and they also aspire for positions in Governors, Central bodies, Commissions etc. Nothing wrong in that. So previous Government appointees should make way gracefully by resigning. No UPA or BJP question.

But the media is howling at the top of its voice that all UPA appointed governors should go. If the BJP wants to provide chances to its stalwarts, there are several ways to accommodate them.

Can we also have the pleasure of knowing about such ways of accommodation. It would increase our knowledge.
Practically speaking it is difficult for NDA to keep the governors who are all congress sycophants, so it is understandable that they want them out ! Until there is a system where governors function independently, this state of affairs will continue !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

A joint governor or an additional joint governor are just a few examples. Can anybody object?
Governor can only stay as long as President of India wishes to. It is evident President of India executes order from advice od Union cabinet. It is bound to happen and this is happening but slowly. Governors of Karnataka and Tripura's term will end this August.

http://mohanmekap.com/

It;s the union cabinet's demand that all the Governors appointed by UPA should resign.. Some governors like Sheila Dixit are refusing to resign. Should see how it ends.
This system of governors resigning once the centre government changes is not correct. All the governors should continue with their tenure for 5 years.
