    I don't know what prevents a lover from becoming a friend also.In life we play so many roles with great success without any difficulty!

    I feel the same with my practical experience. They had to settle some where else so left for their destination but we are still friends, No hard feelings.

    Love is a deeper relation that almost merges entities. Friendship keeps individual identities intact but there is utmost sincerity. Typical love and friendship relation is of Krishna with Radha and Drupadi. Krishna was best friend of Drupadi and he was the only person to help her in distress. His relation with Radha were very deeply emotional. That is why we club Krishna with Radha and not with Rukmani or Drupadi.

    Friendship is between two. Lovers almost lose their separate identity. Being on soul in two bodies, they are one and same identity and hence the question of friendship simply does not arise.
