Even we have disconnected it but now we have new connection just for internet purpose. I think for offices and all that landline phones are necessary.

Ya, everyone opts land phone for internet connection only.
Read this article, you people will surely restore the land phone connection back

Mobiles are now given the name, Cigarettes of 21st century

That article is great.. But why not image appearing!!

I am using mobile, but not using calling feature more, as I rarely call to anybody. But I do use it for other purposes like internet. Do you think it can affect us healthwise?

This is common problem with images these days in article section some of my images disappeared later.

except 2, all the images of my 200 articles have disappeared now

last league, i went to every neighbour's home to take photos of their interior. picture insertion is also a time consuming process. this time, i didn't spend my time for inserting pictures. full waste

I still have a landline connection. Even though we have mobiles, we still prefer to have this connection because my internet is connected to it and also because I do not prefer to use my mobile so frequently. Also, sometimes there may be a problem with signal etc. so its better to have a landline connection always.

I have a fixed phone of BSNL (then Deptt. of telecom) since 1991. For some time, i had also internet service of BSNL but now i have Tikona network service. The BSNL fixed phone also serves as residential proof and hence I agree with Preethi Zinta's ad of MTNL. My parents found Land Line more convenient. Many contact on he fixed phone and so this needs not be surrendered. .

Land phone has some limitation and needs more maintenance so Now it is absolute and Mobile has more facilities.

Yes.. That's why people are moving to mobile.

But in offices, Mobile phone can't take place of land lines.

I agree about proof of residence but in my case I stay here for only for a few months every year so it does not serve my purpose.

we may consider that mobile phone is personal whereas the fixed phone is for family or an establishment. In other words, fixed phone is for collective use unlike mobile phone which is personal. Keeping this in view, one may decide.
