NO matter what gadgets are invented, handwriting is still important in the formative years because wielding a pen or a pencil is very important in developing fine motor skills of young children. The muscles that are responsible for writing are also helpful in keeping the brain functioning. Technicalities aside, writing a note, a birthday greeting or a thank you message personally in your own writing makes a world of a difference than sending it electronically via email or a sms. So writing is an important function and good handwriting, not just reflects your technical finesse, but also the beauty of one's thoughts.

Almost every organization says that they are transparent in their rules and regulations and they don’t have favoritism for someone particular. It is true but can’t be said for the people those who sit in the higher post or manage the organizations. Whether they accept or not, they do favour to the people those who dance with their tune or whom they personally “likes”. And those who stand against them are the biggest villain.   Here the story comes; people those who agree with them with hand folded or those who don’t have guts to speak the truth gets the favour from them but the person who talk the truth and stand against them are in biggest lose. The organization will never like these kind of person and if not openly but behind the curtain always try to hold their progress with “misusing” their power.   There are people who are needy will keep working without any noise but those who have their own self respect will walk away from these kind of bad and cheap mentality people.   Interestingly these kind of cheap works are done by people those who try to be an “honest” person in open world and called themselves “educated”.     My reply to these people – “You can hold someone’s progress but can’t stop it for forever. You can do it with your limited power but after that it is an open world.”

Personally I feel that our mind is so complex that no amount of research will be able to pin point any one reason or even a few relevant reasons as to why nightmares occur. We keep coming up with new facts and change old beliefs and so on.Bu t both dreams and nightmares are fascinating subjects of study !

@ Jeets There were time when our school teacher used to force us to have good handwriting. To have good handwriting we used to write more and more. Student those who had beautiful handwriting used to get praised by teacher and family members.  The scene is changed today, we have Android mobile, Tablets, Laptops and computers to write. Normally all the business work done by emailing. The habit of writing in a papers becoming less day by day, above all no one cares about it. So, my simple asking to the members is beautiful good handwriting still have the same value or importance?   Handwriting is still important at school levels because it forms the very foundation of education.Language, handwriting, grammar and knowledge all go hand in hand during the formative years of a student.Later of course they may diversify and pick what they want .But it is also a fact that very intelligent and brilliant children have poor hand writing because their mind races faster and is on to something else before their writing catches up..In fact many of them  hate writing, but it is good to train them to have at least legible hand writing if not anything else ! I like writing and in my job there is a lot of writing involved which I am quite happy about..

Exactly. Hand writing need not be beautiful If there is legibility, it's enough. If legibility and  beauty are together, it's wonderful. Additionally there is one genre of handwriting  known as Calligraphy. It has many openings in the commercial field.

Handwriting should be readable, even though it is not so beautiful. Others could read it without much difficulty. And naturally, whatever is readable will look beautiful too. If students practice writing beautifully it will help them perform better in exams and also create some discipline in their life.

Having good handwriting is a asset. Legibility and clarity are the prime criteria in one's academic career in any stage be it in school education or in the job career later. Many court cases were dismissed by the courts because of lack of legibility.  Any number of technical advancements cannot replace hand writing.

We should change our lifestyle. Follow good eating habits and involve in physical activities to maintain physical health. Spend some time in nature; maintain human relations with family and society; throw away selfishness and fill the heart with love; these will make us mentally and spiritually healthy. And the world will become a better place to live.

I still give importance to good handwriting. Earlier mine was not good but not bad too but now my hand shakes while writing a long piece due to lack of practise. I feel it's important so I ask my son to practise because for his academic examinations he has to depend upon handwriting and not on any electronic gadget.

@Lopamudra I have not taken it as a personal attack but yes, I felt that highlighting something negative about a public figure is considered as a negative approach to the discussion. That's totally unfair. In my very fist or second comment on this thread I highlighted Gandhiji's practise of Brahmacharya cannot be considered as a simple way of living. Why should we blame the media for everything? We can find in biographies of Gandhiji about the method he used for practising Brahmacharya. It was a ridiculous practise. We talk about Gandhiji but, have we ever thought about those teenage girls what they went through? Do you think, our next generation will not come to know about it and won't like to discuss? They may directly question our opinion about these men and then we will have nothing to justify. We talk about celebrities' character irrespective of their contribution in their field so what's wrong in talking about these patriots? No body is denying their contribution to the motherland but for it we should seal our mouths even if they had some wrong practices. Sorry, I don't believe in flattery.

A good and healthy lifestyle, eating habits mostly natural foods clubbed with physical exercise or Yoga can keep your health in good condition free from any ailments. After all if wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost everything is lost.

As it was said in my earlier posts, discussions take multiple turns with every member's new opinion. There is nothing wrong in that. It's rather more beneficial to the forums as the members will have an opportunity to know different angles of the same subject. Accepting and honoring each member's opinion and point of view opens the flood gates to new information.

Yes. Beautiful good hand writing is still treated as a valuable asset. As Hand writing is an art form. And there is a different genre of handwriting known as calligraphy.Still many organizations need Calligraphy artists. http://www.thepennyhoarder.com/calligraphy-side-job/

@ Shampa, you took it as a personal attack, it was not. Sorry if you felt otherwise. It was a general statement after reading all the posts. I feel, again my personal opinion, the great leaders should be remembered for their contributions rather than their personal lives. @ Usha, I agree that a discussion does lead to all angles of the person concerned and the gen next is far more exposed to every type of information but when it comes to these great personalities their positives overshadow the negatives and that's the way it should be. We have read some kind of negative about all great personalities be it Gandhi ji, Nehru, Netaji Bose or even Rabindranath Tagore for that matter. They are world famous figures and respected worldwide . By bringing forward the negative points (which is mostly done by media and we ,the believers, carry it forward) we somehow taint the image of our own leaders not only in front of the youngsters but also in front of people from other countries.

One opinion leads to another. And they in turn take multiple turns and twists. If Mahatma Gandhi's ideals are positive to one member. The same will be viewed in another angle by another member. It's to be remembered both the opinions of the members. . And both are to be respected.

Lopamudra wrote: I feel we should be respectful towards all our great leaders and remember their contributions. It was a long struggle following which India attained freedom. Be it Gandhiji or Netaji, they did what they thought best for the country. We should acknowledge that and remember only that. Our children learn what we teach them. If we do character analyzing in our minds, our teaching to our next generation is influenced and they, after all these years of independence would, know very little about the real contributions of the great leaders. In a discussion , it is but natural that all aspects both positive and negative gets highlighted about the topic or person concerned. We cannot make exceptions just because someone was a great leader. In fact bringing out other unknown aspects even if they seem negative to some , make them more human . It is better to be frank and open rather than hide facts, the younger generations have much more access to information than we ever had. If interested they would get all the information they want on the net..

rambabu said thank you to usha manohar for his/her reply to the topic Nightmares and how they affect you..
Nightmares are caused by both psychological and physical reasons. If a person is hungry while going to bed or has fever, nightmares can occur as we see in children..Freud was not able to complete his study on dreams and nightmares , which in fact was studied further by his student Ernest Jones. He concluded that nightmares are a result of a powerful wish and an equally powerful repression ! Later Psychologists like Ernest Hartmann went deep into the psyche and more revelations came out ..
