It's a male dominated society,. In this respect, I consider myself lucky. I have given equal opportunities to both my daughter and son. Now all the three are happily settled in their lives. At one time my elder daughter who lives in Bengaluru gave up her PG in History only to look after her growing children. It's now after her children grown up she started doing her favorite Teaching job  It's entirely my own experience. It may not happen to all.

Nightmares are caused by both psychological and physical reasons. If a person is hungry while going to bed or has fever, nightmares can occur as we see in children..Freud was not able to complete his study on dreams and nightmares , which in fact was studied further by his student Ernest Jones. He concluded that nightmares are a result of a powerful wish and an equally powerful repression ! Later Psychologists like Ernest Hartmann went deep into the psyche and more revelations came out ..

The Indian society and mindset is such that a son is an asset since he carries forward the family name and a daughter no doubt is protected and cared for but nonetheless a burden that has to be passed on which incurs expenditure and some distress for the family ! The sole aim is to marry her off and education too in many families is given because it aids her in getting a good match. Even if she has a job and is earning, she is the one who is supposed to make the sacrifice of giving up her job after she gets married or has children. If it is done willingly taking other matters into consideration , that is quite another matter. But normally a woman has little say in the matter since she is expected to toe the line ..

There are girls who prefer marriage over education. But there are exceptions also who defied the set norms set by her parents and the society. Recently I heard about a girl ran away from her village to pursue her education. She was promptly helped by a Voluntary NGO and helped her in giving education to her. But this will not happen every time. I'm of the opinion, a change started taking place. Now to see the fruits of it it takes time.

Well, @Rakhi Yadav, we don't know each other. I joined this site two months ago and enjoying it too. Hope to read your opinion on various threads. Good luck!

I really appreciate this reply. Girls must follow their dream first before marriage or at least they must set up a foundation stone of their dream and carry it forward after marriage too. But, I am afraid there are many girls who dream about marriage only.

Definitely. I agree with you. Discussions forums enable the member to express his opinion in a free will. I honor every member's opinion, of course while expressing my own opinion. This adds more respect to the forums.

@vijay My opinion has nothing to do with Bengal. It is not based upon Bengali lineage. After Bose won the presidential election and Pattabhi Sitaramayya lost then Gandhiji declared it as his personal loss and that make me feel he was biased. Subhash Bose gave the title of Father of the Nation to Gandhiji and so there is no reason to think that they did not admire each other. @rambabu We are all adults and it is a proven fact that one aspect of a discussion may lead to another aspect and that's how discussion takes place. I think on this thread no one has opined that Gandhiji forced others to follow him. No, he didn't. but, do you think that's an enough reason not to talk about the aspects of a public figure which we do not appreciate? If we can talk about good qualities then we can talk about something which we do not like and that too when the thread talks about simplicity of Gandhiji. You may have started the thread about his food habit but it led to Sarojini Naidu and so on. What I wrote about Bapu is my personal opinion and have not represented it in a derogatory manner. @Lopamudra The intention was not to insult a great leader. For me Gandhiji and Subhash Bose are equal and I admire them a lot but obviously there are certain points when I have my different opinion. It is not ingratitude as @rambabu said. I am a mother of a teenage boy and I always ask him to learn about these great personalities irrespective of any bias attitude. Discussion can take place on any ground because we have our own opinion regarding a subject and that is not character analysis. I am certain that in every generation these patriots will be remembered with respect. I think it's always good to respect others view when it is not derogatory. Everyone cannot be of the same opinion.

Kalyani Nandurkar said thank you to suni51 for his/her reply to the topic Best 2 Ideas get Rs 20 each.
I agree, we cannot ask for time bound starting of threads but we can limit the number of threads to 2-3 a day per member. Besides we can certainly limit 5-6 posts per thread by a particular member which in my views is enough to give their view points. While we cannot restrict the freedom of expression of a member we can certainly restrict repetition of the views by limiting the number of posts.
