There are many native English speakers who make number of grammatical mistakes in their articles. Very true. Simply because Telugu is my mother tongue, I cannot claim I speak and write a Telugu, free from Grammatical mistakes. Our Telugu News and entertainment channels stand testimony for what you said.

No country can progress when anarchism is at its peak. In my first answer of this thread I have supported anarchism. Now, it sounds like a contradiction on my part. No, I am not insane to support unrest but it has to be understood on a simple backdrop. Those who are forcefully wronged due to bad policy will not tolerate after a certain point of time. One aspect that the lawmakers forget is when dreams get shattered then revolution takes place.                                                                                                                                                                               The students or the job seekers whose ability is much above the average level can turn their agitation against reservation into a huge one just because they do not lack brains. The main point is if a below standard person gets what he/she does not deserve then it must be protested.  Those who come from economically weaker section (EWS)  they definitely deserve some reservation but imagine those who are from stable economic condition gets the benefit of reservation. I want to ask the lawmakers that, why, did the affluent people of the reserved caste did not study well before the examination. Isn't it that they take the advantage of the reservation policy for granted? Recently, in Delhi a racket busted out which had misused the quota system and enrolled the students under the EWS scheme from some wealthy lot. Then what's the use of such policies which do not serve the right purpose.  The reservation policy on caste basis is nothing but an oppression. India is at loss because the aspirants with low IQ and below average academic performance cannot brighten the future. Even the number of brain drain increases because when the seekers do not enjoy a position of their ability then who can stop them from flocking towards west.  Thus, agitation is not healthy for a country but it cannot be avoided when some wrong is meted out to a section of countrymen on the basis of caste system. Wrong agitation cannot be entertained but unconditional support must be extended to those who raise their voice against disgusting policies.

Most Indians tend to translate their own thoughts which are normally in their mother tongues, to English and therein comes the problem of grammar and structure...Some of them are quite amusing . Since English is learnt in later years, most Indians do not have the required kind of proficiency and fluency . Even the well known Indian writers are unable come up to the level of other English speaking writers . This is something that has to be accepted and we can only try and  better ourselves..

Basically there are irrelevant portions in our write-ups and speeches that we use in our lives on day-to-day basis whether we use any language therefore, these stupidiest are quite common. All we have to do is that we ought to be to the point while writing and speaking. This way we tend to make less mistakes.

Since the Elizabethan era the Engliah language has undergone several changes like thee changed to you and yonder transformed into there. Therefore, languages is like a flowing stream, like water cannot remain stagnant similarly the language cannot remain the same. It transforms due to the varying ideologies with time. Oxford dictionary is a reliable and authentic piece of literally work which helps in building vocabulary for people. It is an array of new words.

I too feel that it is time for celebration because our armed forces are the backbone of our nation and they should be looked after well for the sacrifice they make. I am sure all political parties have the highest regard for hem and would like to see them happy and satisfied ! there is a lot more to be done to them with regard to weaponry and their gears and other needful things while on duty at border posts , which is not even comparable to Pakistani soldiers. And incidentally Pakistan has a larger defense budget than us at some 700 billion Rupees ..

It's indeed a landmark decision. Every decision comes with some hitches and glitches here and there but for that a landmark decision cannot be undermined. Now, both the parties must act reasonably, hold discussion and sort out the differences so that the veterans can benefit the most from such a decision which was long awaited.

vijay wrote: In the start of thread it is mentioned  by @Usha that Indira Gandhi scrapped the OROP in 1973. To the best of my knowledge this is not correct. What had happened was that the pension of armed forces was reduced from 75% to 50% of last pay drawn based on the then   pay commission's report. Member may like to clarify correct position. https://www.quora.com/Why-Indira-Gandhi-scrapped-out-One-Rank-One-pension-OROP

Gulshan Kumar Ajmani said thank you to RAMAKRISHNAN. A for his/her reply to the topic Ramayana : History or Mythology?.
It is possible that Valmiki wrote Ramayana based on a true story in real life, in which the author himself was a character. To satisfy the mystical nature and sentiments of the human mind, he had added many exaggerations and included superhuman characters and miraculous acts. It is a beautiful and unparalleled epic in Sanskrit that induced morality in Hindu community, and had its different versions written by several scholars. That is fine. But, in real life, I cannot imagine the colossal image of a ten-headed giant, or a person flying thought the air holding a huge mountain on his one hand, etc., except with a childish innocence and excitement. Just by linking certain places and things to the incidents of a story very cleverfully using the words “it is believed to be”, we cannot convert a story into history.

rambabu wrote: Anyhow, the thread says about the troubles taken by the woman. Instead, she could have taken the trouble to stand against the troubles she encountered . " only cowards commit suicide."   Suicide is a bad idea. But one committing suicide is not coward. Many wish to end their lives but have no courage to do. In fact, suicide is bad and one should lead a responsible life. One committing suicide is escapist from life and is irresponsible or not of prudent mind. But not a coward. ending one 's life is not an easy decision.

Actually, the position of pay and pension before 1973 was different. Then pay as well as pension were fixed on basisi of lenth and rank according to table. There was no need to calculate pension which was simple enough to fix onbasis of table.  But after 1973 Third pay commission,  there were pay scales with annual increments instead of table. Pension had also to be fixed on basis of ten months average emoluments.  This subsequently resulted in anamolies as those retiring later would get more pension onbasis of salaty in revissed pay scale. Hence the issue of one rank one pension is a result of Third Pay commission report implementation and not scrappingof any orop scheme by Indira Gandhi.  Every pay commission- third, fourth and now fifth contribute to more anamolies as new pensioners are gainer and old pensioners get less than new ones in spite of having retired with same amount of service in same rank.  A pay commission is constituted every ten years and  pay scales and pension rate  are revised. The pensioners also gain but the old onesdo not get as much benefit as new ones.  It is good that at last, one rank one pension goal has been achieved significantly.
