Personally, I don't to eat raw onions though many Punjabis do this. Onion is no doubt an important ingredient in food but when there is scarcity or unusual high price, we can make some adjustments. Possibly, govts. of Delhi, Rajasthan, M.P. may not be responsible. But there is only emotion and not logic in electioneering. any stick is good to beat the opponents.
