May be the village in which your parents lived not having much of the facilities of education.I know many of the kids have to compromise in that case. :)
I never lived away from my parents in my childhood. I spent my vacation time in my mother's place otherwise I was always with them only. :(
Even my parents too never allowed me to stay away from them except for higher studies but they were really concerned for me when they left me in the hostel. :)
