    I think she read the book he was looking for, did not like the subject hence the slap. Why did she take one hour? She was reading it.

    Its because may be they are not perfect in the language.Sometimes people need practice to be fluent in the language simply just reading books one can't learn a language they need to speak it with people to get fluent. :)
