It is better to live in peace than stay in the savage world and for this one should stay away from such situations.

Mohan this is theoretical person tends to get in to politics though he/she may not want to be. Many times I try not to get involved but you people compel you to otherwise they take advantage of yours every time. Although who does not want to live in peace. :)
Friends- Modern day offices especially in private sector have no place for a politics within their campus. There exist some jealous types in an office, few who love to pull legs but a politician will be thrown right out of the window. Management knows its business better than what most people think about it.
Modern day management hires experts of their particular fields who know their jobs and work on cooperative basis. Everyone knows that one can only survive with better results of his company so knows the company. A politician therefore will find his place in the street sooner than his expectation.

Yes. I agree with you. Private sector management is clean and there is no place for politics in its premises. Here merit is the only criteria for an employee to shoot ahead. And nobody knows about this more than the Private sector management. And they are well aware of 'Kam Chors". Only Kam Chors will indulge in politics.

Hire or fire is the motto of pvt, sector, as here only exceptional are meant to succeed and now-a-days govt. jobs are minimal.

If you have very strong ambition and you want to be a part of the administration, take part in office politics. You must be very tactful and cunning. If you are not alert everywhere, you loose otherwise you win. Nobody can stop you from becoming a boss.

Everything moreover depends on time and situations. Take advantage of that. Keep in mind the weaknesses of others and work accordingly.
If others are pushing you back, you have no other option left rather than to take part in this. Play it like a game. Otherwise you loose everything without any cause.
Office politics in a way is office environment which reflects its culture. One has to be extremely cautious of it while dealing with it.

I agree with you. Many people has tendency to do politics in offices. If an innocent is suffering for no reason, he should not tolerate it. This actually spoils his career. Unless he becomes tactful and wise, he cannot stick to his job. He will never be promoted. One should snatch his promotion rather than beg/cry for it. Office is a serious place for work. Hence children are not given jobs in the office.
Promotions or advancement can not be sole object and also it should not depend only on office politics, further education can differentiate you from the others and then you can appear for some other examination within organization.

Yes there can be some other reasons behind office politics like jealousy, biasness, other mean intentions, etc.

Yes. You are right. Because govt. offices are over staffed. 10 persons are employed for a job, where only 2 persons are needed. This makes the idle employees indulge in gossip, mud slinging and politics. Whereas, the scenario is opposite in private organizations.

Due to cut throat competition among colleagues in pvt. sector the kinds of office politics there is slightly different that the govt. It is the sheer nature of human to form group or society and leads to friendships and enmity.

Survival of the fittest is the adage we all know, Anywhere. be it Public or private sector it's the only sutra to survive and conquer any adverse conditions including office politics.
I think honest persons can always stay in the right direction without any such aberrations, the person who works and does not go to any side of office politics can have proper value to add more to system than those who are dealing with office politics.
